My Vision

Oct 19, 2015 by Ayano Watanabe

My vision for a sustainable world is actually pretty simple. All i want is just to see the stars shining at night, the clean streets when i walk by,not breathe the toxic air that we get from cars and lastly feel the cool air because I know Im surrounded by healthy trees.

But of course, thats just what i have imagined. But is that impossible? Well, the answer is no. I can choose to be the change i want to see happen by starting with myself--- learning to discipline myself and change my perspective because as a teenager its hard for me to see my community getting affected by climate change. So I promise to do my best not to litter or if I see anyone Id bravely tell them not to and i would start reusing papers now to save or lessen the cutting of trees and slowly stop the use of plastic.

Thank you Ayano. All the things you mentioned here are important and necessary changes we should follow to have a cleaner and greener environment. But personal efforts like this are not the whole story. It is difficult to comprehend the scale of the climate change as it is affecting different locations with different degrees of intensity. For example in your country, Philippines,  the sever rainfalls and storms are occurring with more frequency than before and a lot of scientists believe this to be a consequence of climate change while the source of this phenomenon may be the fossil fuel burnt on the other side of the planet. That's why we need a global plan that considers all nations, and that's why we should join social programs and demand from the world leaders to recognize this issue and come up with solutions.
