Energy and Environment on our planet

Oct 22, 2015 by qayyum

The environment is a very important, obviously because we only have one place to live. Earth, unfortunately our energy output is miniscule compared to our waste. Though you may argue that we produce waste equal to or less than said energy source. The fact of the matter remains that we are not as efficent as we could be. One example of this is our nuclear reactors. Though they do produce a lot of energy and their waste is miniscule compared to coal and other fossil fuels. The toxic waste that they produce is immense and deadly. The nuclear waste is toxic for about 1,000 years before it becomes non-toxic. However greater and more effeicent energy sources such as Thorium-232 could very well be the fuel of the future. It lasts longer than Uranium-235 (fertile uranium). As well as producing much more energy 1 ton of Th-232 is worth 200 tons of U-232 and 3,500,000 tons of coal. This is how we save our planet/ environment, a more effecient energy source

Hi, I'm Alice from HS of Chung-Hsing, Taiwan.

I also think save the environment is very important, and we develop other energy in Taiwan to substitute thermal power generation, which is Taiwan's mostly electricity generate from.

We believe that most electricity will come from offshore wind power in the future. Because the strength of wind that blows over Taiwan Strait is strong and stable, this energy becomes a good one to develop in Taiwan.

Is there have offshore wind power in your country?
