I am the student from HS of Chung Hsing University, Taiwan.
The occurrence of salt water intrusion has become more frequent in Taiwan due to the rise of sea level caused by the melting of iceberg . It is believed by the authority that if the sea level rises by 6 meters , low-lying cities such as Taipei, Tainan and Kaohsiung will face serious consequences, such as being completely submerged in sea, which will as a whole subsequently influence Taiwan’s agriculture and economy seriously. This has led to dramatic losses in low-lying agricultural areas in Taiwan(Linbian Township, Pintung County)as sea water floods the crop fields. Crop fields at low-lying areas have been flooded by salt water for some time, and our food supply is decreasing.
I think people should take climate change seriously since it not only influence our country but also affect the globe.
