This particular reading is essential for us to understand the immense significance that the year 2015 holds in terms of addressing the issue of climate change. The article – ‘A year of action’ perfectly sums up the importance of enlightening the global community about the issue at hand. But it also highlights the laxity in the approach of governments of countries in spotting this. And yet 2015, remains a year when all the wrongs can be made right by planning for the future. With global initiatives like COP21 and United Nations Summit to Adopt the Post-2015 Development Agenda putting the spotlight on addressing this concern, it has spurred the masses as well as the governments to sit up and take notice. And so, with renewed vigour and zeal, the global society is making plans to ensure that our climate and all its other aspects are monitored and controlled to ensure that we humans continue to live in a sustainable and healthy environment. But while we emphasize the need for governments to formulate policies to bring this into action, we must not forget how important the contribution of the masses is. We as components of the society must undertake certain measures to ensure that our objectives and aims are fulfilled. And for this, just like the article says, communication is very important. New and better methods must continue to be thought of, so as to tell more and more people about the significance of climate change and the effect it can have on their lives. It is only if we take our cause, our initiative beyond a few figures and to all the common people that our goals will be achieved.
