How do these simulations relate to your community? Do any of them feel irrelevant to your context?
The ecological footprint was relevant to us more than the president one. Our own ecological footprints were big eye openers for us because it showed how our everyday actions affect and will affect the world in a huge way negatively. It was really surprising to see how doing simple things like buying meat products were making our footprints bigger. We also feel that my ecological footprints were somewhat inaccurate because the questions asked were very general and were not really good indicators to determine our ecological footprints.
How do these simulations help you (or not help you) find your place in combatting climate change?
The ecological footprint game can relate more to the community because it shows how you impact the environment, and what you could to be more friendly to the environment. The climate change simulation was not a relevant to the community as the first game. The simulation shows you all your needs and wants, but it does not show how it affects the environment. The game just proved that the climate can change at any time and how to get nations to agree with you.
Have these simulations changed how you think climate change should be tackled?
The simulations have not made a big impact on the way we think climate change should be tackled. We still think that everyone as a community can make a huge difference one step at a time. But what this stimulator did do is show us that making a change is easier then we think and can be jump started just by doing something as little as walking to school or even carpooling.

Your last paragraph I mostly agreed with. Especially "everyone as a community can make a huge difference one step at a time." However it is not true that just one person can make a difference "making a change is easier than we think and can be jump started just by doing something like walking to school or carpooling." How can these actions translate effectively into a better environment? You need to take more serious steps. If I or someone else was just driving seeing someone walking to school, I really don't think most people think "Hmm, I should walk instead of drive." More severe action needs to be taken and fast. Climate change is no longer something we can push back. We as a whole need to act - or change the way we think. To some extent the government or bigger corporations must get involved for there to be an effective change. Although lazy to say so - even if one person decides to be environmentally friendly there is still another five billion people who are not caring for the environment. Personally I try to be environmentally conscious - but if no one else follows does it really matter?
Of course that's assuming that the average person doesn't care. If everyone does decide to follow - than yes one person could translate into a cleaner better Earth. I really do want this to happen. Everyone will likely care when environmental issues become more common and directly affect the average person. Hopefully by than it won't be to late.
I agree with the statement "That this stimulator did do is show us that making a change is easier then we think" I feel it is very crucial for us to realize that we are the change. If we can get people to understand that many simple things can be done to Decarbonize we can change our world.
I completely agree with what you are saying about how the ecological foot print is more applicable to us right now at this age, and the climate change game is more of a later on thing as we are not presidents and cannot relate to it.
I agree with what you said in the last paragraph about how doing something simple can make a huge difference in the long run. Just making choices every day with this issue in your mind can help to change the course of our future, but I don't think that's enough. I think that the second simulation showed how leading by example and helping others to do the same made an even bigger impact on the overall success of your mission to reduce carbon emissions. I think that the second simulation taught you more about what you can do than the first one, which to me is more important than what You can say. Words only say so much, whereas actions tell you more than words.
I agree with your answers as the first simulation was much more relatable and eye opening. I also agree the questions asked were generic and could've been more specific
I agree with your point on how the ecological footprint was inaccurate due to the general questions because I felt that my ecological footprint would be average or somewhat above, from the daily life I live, but instead it was below average... Shocker
I agree that the first simulation is relevant because it shows us how much resources we use,Also it shows us what we need to reduce to have a great environment.I also agree that the second one is irrelevant because for me it really dosen't show us what we need to do to prevent climate change.
love it!!!! i agree that both simulations give us insight in to our communities work, on both international and individual scale
I do agree that for the ecological footprint simulator, the questions should be more in-depth and precise, so that the simulator tells you a more accurate footprint.
I completely agree with your point of view because things like the climate change simulation gets us to work on issues that are not in our hands
