The BlueYouth theme is related to my country because climate change is an issue affecting countries around the world and the country in which I am currently living in (Ghana) is highly affected. Water is our main theme of BlueYouth, and water scarcity or finding access to clean water are one of the bigger issues in Ghana. In this country, a lot of people are restricted to sache bag water which isn't always the cleanest and can sometimes carry disease. Matter of fact, a while ago sache bagged water was one of the big contributors an outbreak of cholera in Ghana.
It relates to my country pairing because Alaska is in a similar situation where global warming is effecting the water - not as bad as it is in Ghana, but there still is a significant impact due to my research.
The current state of this BlueYouth theme is that if we continue to live the way we do now, then water scarcity and the difficulty of getting access to clean water will continue to rise drastically until we will basically have no water left to live and that will lead to a chaotic world.
This theme seems to be evolving in a positive way in my country meaning that it is slowly being improved and becoming a cleaner country- especially in terms of water.
Some strategies that can be used to combat climate change and to address them could be - educate our youth on this big issue because they are the future to what our world will become.
