Thirsty or Flooded: Changing Hydrological Systems

Nov 3, 2015 by Ayano Watanabe

How does this UNFCCC theme relate to your country?

This UNFCCC theme relate to my country because our country is known to be the most vulnerable country which means we are prone to climate change like the flood or drought.

How does this relate to your country pairing?

Our country pairing,Australia, has been also known to be reported to be the country that climate change will affect most because its temperature is prone to drought  than the rest of the world.

What is the current state of this UNFCCC theme?

The current UNFCCC theme in my country is flooding with an example of Typhoon Koppu, known as Typhoon Lando in the Philippines last October 2015 which made 24,000 people evacuate accordingly and caused tremendous structural damages in the coastal provinces.

What are your country's future plans and the implications?

My country's plans are to secure food, sufficient water, stability of ecosystem and environment, human security, enough energy,climate-smart industries and services, and capacity development.

What strategies to combat climate change do you think are best/worst for your country?

The best strategies to combat climate change is to eliminate the burning of natural gasses, walk more rather than driving(if possible), stop cutting down trees, unplug devices when its off because believe me you spend more money paying electricity to power when off than on.
