Bilateral Collaboration

Environment   Oct 28, 2015 by stephanie zawaduk

The bilateral Collaboration with Canada (including Churchill)  and Ghana was productive as well as enlightening. I spoke during out Video Conference about foreign aid and climate change; one of the kids from Churchill Manitoba asked me if I saw climate change in the city. It was at this time that it occurred to me that people in the city might not recognize the signs of climate change; they may not see past the warm temperatures and only see a shorter winter. This short winter will lead to depletion of nutrients in the soil this in turn causes a smaller and less nutritious crop yield. I know I have gone off topic I just feel that it is important to understand the perspective that many people hold. This collaboration led to a beer understanding of the communities we need to reach. This understanding can only be reached through communication and that line of communication has been expanded and this will allow us to move forward. I felt that this communication was the success of the bilateral collaberation.
