This article focuses on Climate Change, particularly the work that United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The aim of this conference is to try and determine a legally binding action plan to reduce the impact of the human footprint on the natural world. During the conference the peoples are starting with accomplishable goals such as, trying to minimise the warming to 2 °C. They then move onto tackling larger, more ambition goals that may not have a present solution. As well as global warming the other focus of this conference is to address sustainable development; all goals will run for a minimum of 10 years.
This conference has capture the attention of may people with a range of both positive and negative responses. The Pope Francis acknowledges climate change he says; “climate change is real and that it has potentially serious implications for humanity”. He also states that “the overconsumption by rich nations and the impact this is having on the poor” which is an interesting statement that I agree with, the people who have the power and the money to make positive changes to make this world one that is liveable for millions of years to come, instead we are ruining our planet. Pope Francis also states that there is a lack of global action, which is something I agree with however I feel like someone with his social standing could make a larger impact and encourage a wider audience to help make a difference to the world. Another person who has been involved in voicing out is One Direction, in their music they are trying to influence people to speak up to the world of politicians and people with influence.
I think that global worming is a worldwide issue, it allows the whole world to come together, it breaks through language barriers uniting the whole world to take a stand and collaborate to help make out world ‘green’ and sustainable for all future generations.
