I just wanted to bring up the question or point that since Ghana is a developing country, what role does it play in the issue and discussions of climate change? Areas such as infrastructure are very poor, and so development needs to occur (however, Ghana wants to follow in the footsteps of other developed countries, which entails fossil fuel burning).

I think it's crucial for developing countries to understand that the path to development doesn't have to go through a phase of fossil fuel based industry. Take India for example, it's a large country which has a huge plan to add infrastructure for coal in near future. At the same time a lot of people in India are suffering from droughts, floods, extreme heat waves, etc... which are direct results of climate change. Developing countries-like Ghana- must take a leap from fossil fuels to renewable energy directly if they want to "grow" their economies in long term.

Climate change is becoming a big issue in Ghana because we do rely mostly on hydroelectric power. In addition to the poor state our main hydroelectric dam with less than maximum turbines running, there has been lower rainfall during the rainy seasons, and so our dam has low water levels and we have been experiencing significant power outages. There have been protests here in Ghana related to 'Dumsor' which is the regular power cuts taking place.

We believe this time is a very special moment for all mankind to the COP 21 in Paris.

That representatives of the Conference have great sensitivity and promote the necessary decisions so that our planet does not suffer more with climate change and global warming. We arrived as the extent permitted emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Here in Brasilia, will present the COY 21 of the report to the authorities to position themselves against the major problem we are facing today.

Dear Terry and other participants in the COY 21 at COP 21 in Paris, Good Morning!

We have followed with great concern the developments on climate change in the world, in Latin America, Brazil and the Federal District. Recently went through a process of extreme temperatures, both for low temperatures, as high temperatures, it's overnight.

Eventually we had here in Brasilia last month, a record temperature of 36,4º celcius, compared to a temperature reached in 35 years before. Proving that there has been no action by the authorities after the World Conference Rio 92 or Rio + 20, which is unfortunate.

With the COP 21 and COY 21 students from various countries had the opportunity to discuss the issue and find solutions to the major problem we are going through today.

We hope that the COY 21 to be delivered the COP authorities 21 report is a warning that if action is not taken and taken by the participating countries in the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change in Paris, as to reverse the climate process in the World, we risk mass extinction, as studies have shown the United Nations.

We urge the leaders to have the sensitivity to sign and the commitment to comply with the full agreement in their countries. We are here in the Federal District rooting for the success and the global repercussions of COY 21 Report to be presented at COP 21. We put the entire disposal in Brazil to charge the Federal Government and the Federal District, the protective measures, as the demands adopted at COP 21, including making debates in schools on Climate Post-Conference, to the answers being given population.

Atenciosamente,

Dear Terry and participants do COP 21, Good Day!

Extraordinary ones and friends,

We did it! Despite the ban would be a big march in Paris, still we broke last year's record and made the largest mobilization for climate history! From Sao Paulo to Sydney, 785,000 people made the ground shake in more than 2,300 events in 175 countries. All united in one voice, demanding a future with energy 100% clean in order to save all that we love. We are on the covers of newspapers worldwide and we can already feel the impact at the Paris Conference.

It's almost impossible to describe the strength and beauty of what we have created, but these pictures help us understand a little how it went:

London, United Kingdom

This is the movement that our planet was esperando.Muitos countries such as Bangladesh and Ireland, witnessed the largest mobilizations by the climate of their stories. In Australia, 120,000 people took to the streets. In India, 100,000. In Sanaa, Yemen, people took to the streets even with shelling going on nearby.

From top left, clockwise: Melbourne, Helsinki, Berlin, Jakarta, Bogota, Amsterdam

In France, mobilizations that gather more than 500 thousand people have been canceled for security reasons, but members and the Avaaz team gathered more than 10,000 pairs of shoes as a symbol of people who would like to be on the streets - even the Pope and the UN Secretary-General donated his peers! The shoes were placed on the Place de la Republique in Paris, just before the Climate Conference.

The mobilizations have had great media coverage, appearing in hundreds of major media outlets and turning headline of Al Jazeera and the New York Times.

The representative of Pope Francis said: "Today the Pope is in spirit with hundreds of thousands of people, hand in hand with the poor and with those who seek fair treatment regarding the climatic effects."

In his speech to world leaders this morning, Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the UN, reiterated: "The people of the world are also taking the initiative. They took to the streets of cities around the world, organized huge demonstrations calling for change ... and expect each of you to respond in kind. History calls for action. "

And Christiana Figueres, head of the UN climate negotiations, thanked us and said:. "I'm working with Avaaz in installing a screen so that the people's voice be heard All negotiators can see how strong is the support for a climate agreement that protects our planet, the home of us all. "

Today begins the Climate Conference. For years, politicians told us: "Prove that people care and then we will take action" Over the weekend, we showed them that the whole world wants a deal by energy 100% clean Now, a video in which.. We make this demand is being displayed while the heads of state enter the conference building is impossible for us to ignore, or ignore our appeal:. Avaaz team is at the conference and will bring our voices to the negotiators whenever someone tries to weaken the agreement.

This weekend, our movement reached another level. In the next two weeks, we will continue to show this force whenever necessary. Let's keep the flag hoisted hope and shake the conference to reach an agreement that protects our future.

An embrace with gratitude and determination,

Emma, Alice, Luis, Ricken, Ben More, Dan and the whole Avaaz team

PS: Click here to read the editorial that the Ricken wrote about this moment and how it is a test for all mankind (in English).

Thousands of Avaaz members sent photos and videos of the sensational events taking place across the world. For the next two weeks, these images will be projected on a big screen at the conference, which will be seen by governments and negotiators every time they enter and leave the building.
