About Me

Hello, my name is Amber. I live in Toronto, Ontario I have recently started an internship as the Resource Developer at TakingitGlobal. I have a strong passion for humanities and believe in educating for a global community.I am currently completing my BEd at the University of Toronto and will be graduating with the qualification to teach at the primary/junior level. Previously, I graduated from Ryerson with a Bachelor of Design and a minor in marketing. I have a love for travel and I have experienced backpacking through many parts of Europe. In 2003, I volunteered in Burkina Faso, Africa where I developed a lifelong goal to make a positive difference in the lives of others. More recently, I lived and taught in Thailand for almost two years. It was there that I validated my desire to become a educator with a voice committed to the importance of global learning and social justice. TIG is an ideal organization for me to gain experience with as there is a shared belief to prepare and empower all students socially and academically for their futures as global citizens.
