Balencing the Changes

Culture   Oct 11, 2016 by Lexi Stein

The world is changing. Forests change, the water cycle changes, ecosystems change. In fact, little changes and adaptations are essential in ensuring natural life. However, though change itself is fine, it is important that balance is maintained, to prevent disharmony is ecosystems.

In this changing world, it is our responsibility to prevent too drastic of changes, such as rapid deforestations, or extreme changes in the water cycle, or excessive carbon emissions. Whether we are the soul cause of climate change or not, by slowing these changes, it will allow the earth to maintain balance and make it easier for life to adapt.

We all have a part to play. If groups of people from different backgrounds and with different ideas come together to share ideas, we can build a more rounded concept of how climate change is affecting different aspects of life. Organizations like REDD and UNFCCC are doing just that. By discussing the affects of climate change with not only experts in science, but indigenous people from across the globe, we begin to see the bigger picture. Each group has something different to add. By listening to those that are directly affected, and are dealing with the effects of climate change on a day to day basis, such as the worlds poor and the indigenous peoples from across the world, we get a clearer images of what we are really facing.
