Here are the Details, Dates and Times for our last two events:
1) Tri-Regional Virtual Town Halls - Nov 4th or 6th (These are only suggestions. Each group must select their own time and date.)
Here is a link to a document with contact info for each group, suggested dates, and agenda. Once again, the purpose of this event is to bring the ideas you have brought forward in your National and Bilateral talks to the larger community, in an effort to build consensus for the global event on November 13th.

That's everything! We realize not everyone will be able to make all the meeting but it is super important that we do our best to make them happen! If your region has too much trouble getting together, there is the option of blending regions.
I hope you all had a great weekend! We are now less than a month away from the Global Virtual Town Hall meeting on Nov 13. In light of that, we need taken on the items below by Wednesday of this week AT THE LATEST!!
1) Bilateral Collaboration
-Readings have been updated - here is the updated list of all the required reading. Each school is responsible for at least six readings including: 2 Global readings, 2 UNFCCC issue specific readings (to be posted this week), and 2 readings from the Bilateral Collaborative list (See Activity 3a for details)
-Graduate Student Mentors have been assigned - Mentors will be contacting schools this week. They will provide feedback for your students as they post online. They are also an excellent resource if you have any questions. See link.
-Please have the Bilateral Collaborations finished by October 28
2) Tri-Regional Virtual Town Hall
Action is required on this by Wednesday of this week!
As the final Collaboration before the Global Virtual Town Hall, the world will be split into three regions.
- North, Central, and South America
- Europe, Africa, and the Middle East
- Asia, Oceania
Each region will be charged with taking the information from their National Dialogues and Bilateral Collaborations in order to start the process of: Organize, Synthesize and Mobilize. The purpose of this event is to move from seeing ourselves as individual countries and to provide a time for us to work towards global compromise on key environmental challenges. A detailed agenda for the meeting will be shared later this week. In the meantime, each region needs to organize when their day-long event will take place. Please click on the Doodle Link, attached to your country grouping in order to select the best time for the collaboration.
- North, Central, and South America (Canada, USA, Brazil, Peru)
- Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (Sweden, UAE, Ghana, South Africa)
- Asia, Oceania (Taiwan, India, Philippines, Australia)
3) Communicating to the group
In order to prevent filling everyone's email box, we would ask that you keep group emails to a minimum. If you have readings you would like to share, please share them in the Resources section of the Virtual Classroom.
Say hello to Wilderness School: adventurous learners and global citizens who want to collaborate with other schools to take positive action at COP 21 Paris.

Dear Educators and students,
On behalf of the International Coordination Committee, we would like to welcome you to #Decarbonize: A Global Mobilization on Climate Change. With over 10,000 youth from every corner of our planet working together, your students will be helping to lead the world’s largest synthesis of youth voice in advance of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP21, in Paris in December.
This space is populated with resources and learning activities to help to learn about climate change and the current policies/debates/controversies surrounding the issue. Now that you'ved joined the classroom, begin by saying hello in the Discussions section and feel free to contribute discussion threads and responses freely over the coming days. It would also be great if you could complete you TIG profile to help everyone get to know you better. In the Files section, you'll find additional videos and readings that may be of interest to you.
If you have any further questions about our international collaboration, please e-mail encounters@tiged.org.
Warm regards,
~ The Global Encounters Team
