My Vision

Oct 17, 2015 by HyunJin Kim

My vision for a sustainable world is a place where we have a clear blue sky up above our heads and are surrounded by huge number of green trees.

My vision might be something very simple but, it is what I consider important in our daily lives. I know that there are already places that doesn't have clear skies and trees due to air pollution and deforestation.

Air pollution is a result from both human and nature actions. Some of the human activities are:

1) Emissions from industries and manufacturing activities

2) Burning Fossil Fuels

3) Household and farming chemicals.

Most of time when I have a walk around and have a car pass by, I can literally see the dirty gas come out from it. And that is something you really don't wanna see, smell, and feel on your whole body. Emissions from automobile engines contain both primary and secondary pollutants. This is a major cause of pollution, and one that is very difficult to manage.

Another thing that I have noticed when I go to places is that all the trees that used to be in that certain area are all cut down for new buildings to be built up or for some other reasons which I don’t know. This just saddens me. Cutting down trees does not only destroy the homes of the animals but also gets our source of oxygen away.

I honestly don't know what I can do about the issue with the emissions from automobile engines but, one thing I can do with trees are, raise awareness of deforestation and bring my family, close friends, or schoolmates to join me in an organization for tree-planting.

With this I want to end saying, harming nature equals harming ourselves.

I really like how simple, but essential your vision is.

Also, your comment about how "harming nature equals harming ourselves" was really spot on, and accurate which I thought was great.

One thing you are already doing is learning about the issue that is climate change, and taking part of discussions such as these in an effort to create awareness. Just by doing that you have, you are helping others see a different perspective, which in turn assists in showing the far reaching effects of global warming.

Extra things thing that you can do is try to walk, or use public transportation as much as possible, and not to overuse electricity as much as you can.
